The XS Instruments range is pleased to offer two different models of portable oximeters, designed for a variety of applications and featuring different technologies. As always, MADE IN ITALY. The XS OXY 7 NEX, with a high-resolution colour display, utilises the widely used ‘polarographic’ technology; by exploiting a reaction, aided by an electrolyte, between the anode and cathode, an oxygen-sensitive membrane allows only oxygen to pass through the sensor. Once the measurement in mbar (partial pressure) is obtained, the instrument provides a reading in both mg/l and % (oxygen saturation). Measurement of DO, saturation, barometric pressure and temperature. The XS OXY 70 NEX, also featuring a high-resolution colour display, utilises the more ‘sophisticated’ and widely applicable ‘optical’ technology . No chemical principles are involved: rather, a “play” of incident and reflected rays, all via a membrane known as a “luminophore”, enables the sensor to obtain a measurement in mbar, which the instrument then displays in both mg/l and % (oxygen saturation). Instrument features: Manual and automatic data logger with up to 1000 data points in GLP format. Measurement of DO, saturation, barometric pressure and temperature. The OXY 70 NEX is available in five selectable languages and includes functions such as Probe ID, User ID and Sample ID, plus a password function.
